Meet the mummies.

That invitation was extended Wednesday to about 50 Boys & Girls Clubs in Salt Lake and Tooele counties by The Leonardo museum and American Exhibitions, Inc., producers of "Mummies of the World: The Exhibition."

"A visit to 'Mummies of the World' may be the first step in a career as an archaeologist," said Brittany Dunn, a spokeswoman for The Leonardo, 209 E. 500 South. "The exhibit takes science and history out of the classroom and presents it in a stunning visual display with fascinating stories that will spark a desire for more information and further education."

The exhibit, which is open to the public through March 6, features mummies and artifacts from South America, Europe and Egypt, some about 4,500 years old.
