Salt Lake Community College announced the addition of both men's and women's soccer programs Friday, set to begin in fall 2016.

The SLCC soccer programs will compete in the Scenic West Athletics Conference with a nationwide search for a coach set to begin immediately, athletic director Kevin Dustin said in a release.

"SLCC provides a great opportunity for athletes from within the state of Utah, regionally and nationally to compete at the next level," Dustin said in the release. "SLCC has fielded extremely competitive soccer teams at the club level in past years. Like all our intercollegiate sports, we expect to compete at a national level very soon."
