The Utah County offices of Mormon filmmaker Richard Dutcher were damaged this morning in a fire.

Richard Dutcher's wife, Gwen Dutcher, said about three-quarters of the office in Mapleton is damaged and about half of the facility is "gutted." Gwen Dutcher said the losses probably include all prints-- the film that is placed on movie projectors-- of the latest Dutcher production, "States of Grace," as well as packaged DVDs.

The cause of the fire is unknown.

Gwen Dutcher said the production company, Main Street Movie Co., moved about 2 1/2 weeks ago to the office at the corner of Main and Maple streets. Renovations still were underway, though Gwen Dutcher said there was no electrical work.

The building formerly served as offices for Mapleton town government and is attached to the town's volunteer fire department station.

Richard Dutcher's films are geared toward members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and his other movies include "God's Army" and "Brigham City."
