Robert Redford has another job title to check off: Recording artist.

The actor, director, producer, environmental activist and Sundance Institute founder, recently went to a New York studio to record two tracks with guitarist (and "American Idol" season 11 winner) Phillip Phillips and singer Sasha Lazard, Billboard reported.

The songs are for an upcoming movie, "Blind." The movie stars Alec Baldwin as a novelist blinded in a car crash, who has an affair with a woman (Demi Moore) married to a businessman (Dylan McDermott) under indictment.

Redford doesn't act in the movie, the directing debut of movie producer Michael Mailer — who is the son of late author Norman Mailer, and is married to Lazard.

The movie is expected to be released later this year.
