It's sort of a mystery why airing the 1956 film "The Ten Commandments" on Easter weekend (Saturday, 7 p.m., ABC/Ch. 4) has become an annual event … given that the events in the film have nothing to do with Easter.

What, did the people at ABC get their religions mixed up?

Not to get all biblical or anything, but most of the events in the movie take place about 1500 years before the birth of Jesus Christ. And Easter, of course, celebrates Christ's resurrection.

Easter is the most Christian of holidays, while "The Ten Commandments" is about the Jews. You know, Old Testament vs. New Testament.

Well, "The Ten Commandments" is a great movie, nonetheless. Although it requires no small amount of stamina to sit through it — with commercial breaks, it runs 4 hours and 44 minutes.
