A fire at a Woods Cross refinery was put out Tuesday afternoon, but crews remained at the scene to determine the cause of the blaze.

The fire, which sent smoke high into the air, was burning in an asphalt tank at Foreland Refinery, located at 1582 W. 2600 South.

The fire, which started prior to 1 p.m., was declared out at about 2:30 p.m.

There were no evacuations and no one was hurt, according to the South Davis Metro Fire Department.

But officials had urged people to "please stay indoors and close windows to homes and businesses."
