A 17-year-old was shot through his hand in what police described as a gang-related attack in Millcreek.
The teen was with another male Wednesday in the parking lot of an apartment building at 6:50 p.m. near 400 East and 4140 South, when another teen approached and asked the victim's gang affiliation, Unified police reported.
Once the victim disclosed his affiliation, the shooter fired at the victim and fled in a car, police said.
The shooter was described as a 15- to 17-year-old Latino male, about 5-foot-5, with a medium build, police said. He was wearing dark clothing and left the scene in a silver car, police said.
Three fellow gang members of the victim offered investigators little information beyond claiming the shooting was a rival gang member.
