Utah running backs and assistant head coach Dennis Erickson had a nice day at the office last September when No. 18 Utah surprised and obliterated No. 13 Oregon on the road.

Of the 62-20 slaughter, Erickson told The Oregonian yesterday that the game "was easy."

"I can call those games all the time. It was one of those days where you have things going. Their quarterback got hurt so that really hurt them," Erickson said. "On both sides of the football, and then, offensively, everything went right... It was fun to go to Autzen Stadium and win like that. I've been to Autzen Stadium a lot of times and not had near that fun."

The two-time National Champion coach said the Utes still have room to grow after a 10-3 season last year: "We're still not where we need to be competitive."

"One of the reasons Kyle Whittingham brought me there was the transition from the Mountain West ... he brought me in to look at the talent and see where we were at and make that change," Erickson said. "There was quite a bit different in what we've done recruiting-wise. We've become much better in the skill areas and a lot faster... we still got to continue to get better."
