It's a ski-in residence with palatial touches like an English chandelier, Spanish drapes, stained-glass bathroom windows and crystal nobs on the closet doors targeting homebuyers who want privacy, but also a castle.
Erected over seven years, 212 White Pine Canyon Road is a four-bedroom, 15,325-square foot mostly granite home set on nearly 6 acres of wooded land next to Park City's Flat Iron lift.
The land alone is worth $3 million, said listing agent Paul Benson, of Engel & Volkers, with a construction value in excess of $13 million.
Other features include: a curved stone drive, cathedral-style ceilings and vaulted hallways, medieval columns on a ski bridge that leads to a ski room, and heated just-about-everything, including roofs and the garage floor.
Benson said the seller is a single California woman who "built it as a fun hobby," traveling to Europe for design inspiration.
"It's almost like art for her," Benson said.
She would prefer to remain private, he said.
Crews weren't allowed to park overnight in the gated community, Benson said, so each day they had to haul in and out much of their equipment while working at elevation on the castle, which is 80 percent stone.
Benson said he's not sure what it will sell for, but they've had daily showings, with an unusual portion of the interest coming from Europe.
Interested buyers or daydreamers can learn more here. The property will be offered by Concierge Auctions on July 27, opening a 30-day sale window.
