A 43-year-old man is dead after crashing his off-highway vehicle in Spanish Fork Canyon on Friday night.

John Christopher Mulder, of Manti, was driving on a dirt road four miles from Emma Park near U.S. Highway 6, according to a new release from Utah County Sheriff's Office. Mulder apparently lost control of the OHV about 7:30 p.m., causing it to roll off the road.

Mulder and a male passenger were both ejected from the OHV, the release states. Mulder died at the scene; the other man suffered minor injuries.

Investigators believe alcohol may have been a factor in the crash.
