Hillary Clinton takes the lead. Harry Reid wants her to compete in Utah. Sim Gill complains of 'toothless' hate crimes law.

Happy Friday. Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid told Democrats that they shouldn't get complacent even though Hillary Clinton has opened up a lead on Donald Trump. At the same time, he encouraged the Clinton campaign to compete in the normally Republican states of Arizona, Georgia and "Utah, Utah, Utah!" He said: "I know that's far-fetched, but I think [Clinton is] gonna be sending people up to Utah."
