A recent New York Times article suggests that Utah may go for Hillary Clinton in November. Fifty-two years ago, my dad, Joe Rosenblatt, along with Marriner Eccles and others formed a committee which I believe they called "Utahns for Johnson."

Dad had been a Republican since the 1920s, but Barry Goldwater was too much for him and a few other prominent members of the GOP. Among other problems with Goldwater was the fear that he would get us into a war.

As it turned out, of course, it was Johnson who brought on our struggle in Vietnam. Dad felt that Johnson may have been right on this. He was strongly scolded for this by his good friend Marriner Eccles, who had been opposed to the war from the beginning.
