It is quite ironic how Rep. Mia Love wants people to believe in a lie when it comes to Legacy Highway by blaming "Doug Owens, Rocky Anderson and radical environmentalists" for delays.

The facts are that costs were caused by the Republican governor and Republican state legislators, who gave UDOT authority to grant the contract with contractual obligations that resulted in paying contractors for work not performed. This was with full knowledge that several court cases were pending.

A March 5, 2002, Tribune article stated that the contractual obligations were costing Utah taxpayers $100,000 per day.

Ergo, this gamble by Utah's elected Republican officials outweighs any harm and/or concerns that "Doug Owens, Rocky Anderson, and radical environmentalists" were causing at the time.
