With preschool children from West Jordan KinderCare Center singing in celebration, Salt Lake County and West Jordan officials on Thursday dedicated the new South Redwood Public Health Center.

County Health Department Executive Director Gary Edwards said the 20,000-square-foot building, planned for five years and built in the last 15 months, "will allow us to serve 50 percent more WIC [Women, Infants and Children] clients and adds capacity to provide as many as 3,000 vaccinations per month."

Designed by MHTN Architects and built by Stallings Construction, the two-story building contains an immunization clinic, vital records office, WIC services and the county's community health division.
