• Also tonight, it's the long-delayed premiere of "Shooter" (11 p.m., USA), a drama about a a retired

Marine sniper (Ryan Phillipe) recruited by his former commander to prevent an assassination.

It was originally supposed to debut on July 19, but was postponed a week because of the July 7 police shootings in Dallas. Then it was postponed indefinitely — well, until tonight — after the July 17 police shootings in Baton Rouge.

(Neither incident actually resembled the plot of the show.)
