Records were set on Saturday afternoon. Just not celebrated.

Two Ute seniors who passed big milestones in a 30-28 loss to Oregon were not in the mood to talk much about their achievements in the aftermath.

Defensive end Hunter Dimick, the new holder of the program's career sack record, seemed at a loss. After becoming the 13th Ute to rush for 1,000 yards in a season, all running back Joe Williams had to say was "Colorado."

It underscored the emotional struggles of a 24-man senior class that had accomplished much, but on Saturday was left with little consolation. Speaking on Dimick, a team captain who has 14 sacks this season, coach Kyle Whittingham seemed disappointed for his senior.

"I guarantee you he has nothing to celebrate today," he said. "That means nothing compared to winning. But congratulations to Hunter ... that's a tough record to break, and he's got it."

On Oregon's second drive of the game, Dimick wrapped up Justin Herbert for a 2-yard loss to become the sole holder of Utah's sack mark. A second sack later in the game gave him 29 in his career.

Meanwhile on offense, Williams crossed the 1,000-yard mark for the season with his first carry of the second half, a 13-yard gain. The New York native has 1,013 yards and nine touchdowns in his past five games since returning from retirement in October, and again shined with 149 yards on 23 carries on Saturday.

But his mood soured after the loss, when he left the postgame news conference after terse answers to the media.

Barton doesn't finish game

Utah's leading tackler with a game-high 20 takedowns was nowhere to be found on the field on Oregon's drive.

Sophomore linebacker Cody Barton, who had 20 tackles including 10 on his own, was replaced in the fourth quarter by freshman Donavan Thompson. He was spotted after the game on the field wearing a sling.

Utah's linebacking corps, including Barton, has taken its fair share of criticism — which likely won't end after a game in which Utah allowed 251 rushing yards. But injuries may be a bigger concern: The Utes also didn't play Sunia Tauteoli, the team's leading tackler entering the game. If Barton misses significant time, Utah could be without its two linebackers who started the season.
