Another sign of progress in the renovation of the Utah Museum of Fine Arts: The gift shop is reopening.

The Museum Store, in the lobby of UMFA's John and Marcia Price Building on the University of Utah campus, will reopen on Friday — just in time for holiday gift shopping.

Hours on Black Friday will be 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Campus parking will be free that day, except in marked stalls.

Also on Black Friday only, the store will offer a 20 percent discount for regularly priced merchandise to UMFA members and docents.

The store will resume regular hours on Monday: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. And the store will have its annual Holiday Market, featuring items from local artisans, on Saturday, Dec. 3, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Price Building has been undergoing renovations since January to upgrade the humidity controls and make other changes. The lobby cafe and Dumke Auditorium reopened in October. The full museum is slated to reopen in August.
