A brawl late Saturday led to the shooting death of a 33-year-old and the arrest of a Salt Lake City man on an allegation of criminal homicide, according to KUTV.

KUTV reported that 34-year-old Leroy Valdez, who was armed with a gun, broke into his own apartment near 1329 N. Redwood Road to kick people out.

Valdez broke a window and kicked down the front door to get inside, where he got into a struggle with Kenonren Goodman, the TV station said.

The gun went off and hit Goodman, who died at the scene, KUTV reported.
