Osa Chad Masina, a former Brighton High School football star and University of Southern California linebacker, pleaded not guilty Friday to felony counts of rape and sodomy.

At a preliminary hearing this week, a 19-year-old woman said Masina sexually assaulted her after she had passed out at a Cottonwood Heights house party in July, after a night of heavy alcohol and marijuana consumption.

Masina was bound over on a first-degree felony charge of rape and two first-degree felony counts of forcible sodomy, moving his case toward trial in Salt Lake City's 3rd District Court.

Masina, 19, was suspended from the USC football team in September amid investigations of sexual assaults in Utah in California. He remains free on $250,000 bail, an amount his attorneys will seek to lower at a bail hearing scheduled for Dec. 30.
