Park City's Kimball Art Center will be getting into the Sundance spirit, teaming with filmmaker Morgan Spurlock on an art exhibit set to run during the 2017 Sundance Film Festival.

The exhibit, "Thirty-Three: Celebrating 33 Years of the Independent Spirit & Sundance Film Festival," will be curated by Spurlock and co-curated by Jensen Karp and Katherine Sutton of Los Angeles' Gallery1988.

The exhibit — open Jan. 19 through Feb. 12 at the Kimball, 1401 Kearns Blvd. in Park City — will feature work from 33 artists, both established and emerging, on the leading edge of contemporary and visual art.

In a statement, Robin Marrouche, the Kimball's executive director, called the exhibit "playful and provocative."

"This 'Thirty-Three' exhibition pays homage to over three decades of creativity generated by Sundance Film Festival and is the perfect addition for art enthusiasts to enjoy during the festival," Marrouche said.

Spurlock has been a familiar face to Sundance attendees since 2004, when his fast-food exposé "Super Size Me" debuted in Park City and won Spurlock the Directing Award for U.S. Documentary. He has returned to Sundance with "Where in the World Is Osama Bin Laden?" (SFF '08) and "The Greatest Movie Ever Sold" (SFF '11), and was a producer on last year's breakout documentary, "The Eagle Huntress." He also has directed documentaries about "The Simpsons" and Comic-Con, a One Direction concert film and the series "Inside Man" for CNN.

The artists featured in the exhibition are Gary Baseman, Buff Monster, Jon Burgerman, Molly Crabapple, D*Face, Dabs Myla, John Rozum, Ron English, Natalia Fabia, Shepard Fairey, Derek Gores, Naoto Hattori, Logan Hicks, Jabu, Aaron Jasinski, Mike Leavitt, Travis Louie, Dan Lydersen, RAE, Jim McKenzie, Niagara, Nouar, Olek, Scott Radke, Souther Salazar, Todd Schorr, Andrew Schoultz, Shag, Bennett Slater, Beau Stanton, Swoon, Mark Dean Veca and Nicola Verlato.
