Each week, the TribPreps staff will choose standout performers and key numbers from the previous week's action in Utah and showcase them. Here are this week's picks.

Nifai Tonga

The Skyline junior did everything in the Eagles' upset against Kearns. He led the team with 30 points on 12-of-17 shooting, including knocking down four 3-pointers and connecting on both of his attempts from the free-throw line. He added 11 rebounds, two assists and one steal.

Kylie Hale

The senior for Sky View exploded for 27 points on 9-of-16 shooting in the Bobcats' win against Weber. She drilled a remarkable eight 3-pointers, connecting on 67 percent of her attempts beyond the arc on the evening. She added eight rebounds, three assists and two stals in the win.

Abby Whittington

The Juan Diego sophomore represented the Soaring Eagle in the pool Saturday, capturing the individual region championship in the 200-meter freestyle. She touched the wall in 2 minutes, 0.42 seconds, a school record.

North Summit girls' basketball program is undefeated and ranked No. 1 in Class 2A for good reason. The Braves hardly have been challenged this season, and they downed their latest victim, American Leadership, by 61 points — 71-10.

The Dixie boys' basketball program is a perfect 19-0 this season, and dating back to last season, the Flyers have won 28 consecutive games.

That's how many minutes Mountain Crest girls' basketball stalled against highly favored Sky View in the third quarter Friday. It didn't work. The Bobcats still won 34-19.
