Utah's gymnastics team will celebrate senior Baely Rowe's career in a pre-meet ceremony Friday before the home finale against Stanford at 7 p.m.

Utah's performances at home this year leave the Utes with plenty of things to celebrate, too. The Utes will close out another undefeated run at home barring a upset by the Cardinal, which have a season high of 196.325.

The last time the Utes lost in the Huntsman Center was against Nebraska on March 9, 2012, a streak of 25 consecutive wins. The highlight of the home schedule this year was the win over UCLA two weeks ago.

The Utes feel they can put a stamp on the way they've ruled the Huntsman Center floor this year with another dominant performance against Stanford. Utah really hasn't been tested at home, with the exception of UCLA, and freshman MyKayla Skinner remains undefeated in the all-around.

Anything short of a solid win against the Cardinal would be disappointing.

"This team is finally catching onto its rhythm," Utah junior and co-captain Maddy Stover said. "We had some good performances, but now it's more whole. We've had a solid practice style day in and day out, and now we are looking more in our meets how we look in those practices. Going into this weekend, we will be on our home floor and turf, and expectations are we will keep growing as a team and stay undefeated at home. If we carry that into the postseason, it will be a big advantage for us."

Part of the Utes' home success can be attributed to the crowd, although UCLA wasn't too happy with the Utah fans. Bruins coach Valorie Kondos Field was upset, claiming some fans were rude to her team and used obscene gestures. How much the crowd affected the Bruins in the 197.875-197.5 loss is hard to say, but no one argues that Utah is one of the most difficult places to compete.

The Utes go into Friday's meet averaging 15,166 fans and need 14,091 against Stanford to beat their own NCAA gymnastics average attendance record of 14,950 set in 2015.

The Utes easily should draw that many considering it is the final home meet, which always is a big draw. That atmosphere is one thing Rowe said she will try to savor the most in her final meet in Salt Lake City.

"Competing in the Huntsman Center is electric," Rowe said. "They are supportive and know about the sport. It has been such an honor to compete in front of 15,000 fans week in and week out." —
