Former UFC fighters Josh Burkman and Jordan Smith will headline a September mixed martial arts event in Orem.

Burkman and Smith will face off in a 180-pound catchweight fight Sept. 24 at McKay Events Center during the Showdown Fights: Respect event. Also fighting on the card will be former BYU defensive end Jan Jorgensen, a 265-pound heavyweight who will make his mixed martial arts debut against former UCLA defensive end Jerzy Siewierski.

"Ultimate Fighter" reality show alumnus Junie Browning — known more for his out-of-cage antics — will take on Jordan Clements, while the co-main event will feature a 125-pound women's battle between Tandi Schaeffer and Melissa Moore.

The rest of the card, which begins at 7:30 p.m., will have Steven Siler take on Dennis Davis, Ramsey Nijem against Scottie Casey, Rand Gardner versus Kasheem Peterson, Azamat Umarzoda versus Justin Linn, Denver Nirva facing off with Daniel Goode, and Josh Bateman against a yet-to-be-named opponent.

Tickets start at $15 and are on sale at smithtix.com.
