Celebrate Greek food and culture Thursday through Sunday, Sept. 9-12, during the 2010 Salt Lake City Greek Festival at the Holy Trinity Cathedral, 279 S. 300 West. Admission is $3. This ethnic festival is celebrating its 35th anniversary with a full menu of food and baked goods. Guests can take a church tour, sit in on a cooking demonstration or watch youth dance performances. A portion of money raised during the event is donated to Utah charities. Loaf Love in Utah
The Tillamook Cheese company's "Loaf Love Tour" is in Utah this week handing out free cheese samples at grocery stores and special events. Find the tour's retrofitted 1966 VW Microbuses which are a bright orange cheddar cheese color on the following:

Party with paella
It's a paella party and fundraiser on Friday, Sept. 10, at Liberty Heights Fresh, 1290 S. 1100 East, in Salt Lake City. From 7-10 p.m., owner Steven Rosenberg and the market's staff will celebrate the store's 17th anniversary by making this popular Spanish rice dish in a massive outdoor paella pan, possible the largest pan of its kind in the state. Wasatch Community Gardens will hold its annual Tomato Sandwich Party on Saturday, Sept. 11 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Grateful Tomato Garden, 800 S. 600 East, in Salt Lake City. Guests can enjoy a free sandwich made with heirloom tomatoes, homemade basil pesto and fresh locally made bread, as well as live music and kids activities.
