A St. George police prostitution sting operation has caught eight men in its web.

St. George police spokesman Johnny Heppler said the men, ranging in age from 27 to 55, were nabbed Wednesday. The men, whose hometowns ranged from Centerville and Sandy to Washington City, Cedar City and Ivins in Utah to Scottsdale, Ariz., were booked into the Washington County jail for soliciting sex acts in exchange for money.

More arrests could be possible, as the investigation is ongoing, Heppler said Thursday.

"We have been investigating the issue by monitoring numerous social-networking sites over the past few months that cater to this sort of industry," Heppler said. "Clients were the target of this particular sting; however, we have arrested prostitutes and pimps as a result of previous operations."
