The U.S. District Court on Tuesday released dozens of photographs entered into evidence in the Brian David Mitchell trial.

The photos show maps, diagrams and physical evidence used to show the jury how the 2002 kidnapping of Elizabeth Smart took place. They also show items such as the cable used to tie Smart to two trees to keep her from running away from a campsite in the foothills of Salt Lake City.

Mitchell is on trial, accused of kidnapping and sexually abusing Smart over a nine-month period in 2002-03. Smart spent the better part of Monday and all day Tuesday testifying about her ordeal.

She is expected to wrap up her testimony Wednesday.
