Say goodbye to My Dough Girl, and hello to RubySnap.

The Salt Lake City gourmet cookie-dough maker is announcing the new name a bit after 8 a.m. today on KTVX, Ch. 4. But the company's website already has posted the new name.

Proprietor Tami Cromar was forced to change the name of her business after a cease-and-desist letter from the corporate behemoth General Mills — which claimed the Dough Girl name infringed on the bigger company's symbol, the Pillsbury Dough Boy.

Cromar hinted at the reasons behind the new name on the company's Facebook page Tuesday:

Sassy like my personality, red is my favorite color, jiffy rhymes with spiffy ... but that has nothing to do with it. It's hip, it's retro, and it's been living in my head for months! It took awhile to let go, but I'm officially in love with the new name.

Cromar's unique menu — with creative flavor mixes, each symbolized by a '40s-era pin-up girl — hasn't changed, though.

RubySnap is located at 770 S. 300 West in Salt Lake City.
