West Valley City police officers are searching for a suspect in the robbery of a Chase Bank on Wednesday morning.

Police say Daniel Agustin Fuentes, 28, entered the bank at 4587 S. 4000 West at about 11:30 a.m. He approached a teller and lifted his sweatshirt to indicate he had a gun, said Sgt. Mike Powell of the West Valley City Police Department. He left on foot, and eventually got into a vehicle with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Police found the vehicle abandoned a few blocks away, but did not find Fuentes. He is 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighs 165 pounds and was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black beanie cap and jeans.

He is considered armed and dangerous, and police encourage anyone with information about his whereabouts to call 801-840-4000.
