Former Lone Peak High star Ryan Comer, a defensive back at Snow College, has turned down several scholarship offers from other schools and will accept preferred walk-on status at BYU. Comer is a 6-foot-2, 200-pound safety who recently helped Snow win the Zions Bank Top of the Mountain Bowl at Rio Tinto Stadium in Sandy. He's the second defensive back from Snow's program to say he will join BYU in the past month. Preston Hadley, a cornerback from Pleasant Grove High, committed to the Cougars last month and will sign with BYU in February. Comer will be able to enroll in January, however, and will participate in spring ball. The Cougars will have an opening at KAT safety because Andrew Rich, another former Snow Badger, will graduate. His primary backup this season was Jray Galea'i. Rivals.com is reporting that former BYU DT Tayo Fabuluje, who asked for his release a few weeks ago, is transferring to TCU. Fabuluje, from nearby Arlington, Texas, was considered one of the Cougars' top signings last February, but reportedly never felt at home in Provo. He was redshirting this past season. Coach Bronco Mendenhall said last week at the New Mexico Bowl that Fabuluje wanted to transfer so he could live closer to his mother.Fabuluje must sit out in 2011, per NCAA transfer rules, and can join the Horned Frogs on the field in 2012.
