Forage in Salt Lake City was named one of the "Best Overall" restaurants in America, as part of OpenTable's 2010 Diner's Choice Awards.
OpenTable, Inc., which provides online reservations, selected the winners from more than 7 million reviews submitted by users. Forage is on the top 50 list with some of America's most famed restaurants including The French Laundry in Yountville, Calif. and Daniel in New York City.
It's not the first accolade for the 1-year-old restaurant, which serves contemporary American food. It was recently recognized by Food & Wine magazine.
Restaurants from 22 states and the District of Columbia made the top 50 list. California had the most winners with 8; while New York had 7. Virginia had 4 favorites while North Carolina and South Carolina both had three.
"Throughout the year OpenTable announces Diners' Choice winners in specific categories, such as Fit for Foodies, Notable Wine Lists and Good for Groups," said Caroline Potter, OpenTable's Chief Dining Officer. "This list is one of the most interesting to consult as it represents the restaurants that millions of diners feel are providing the best overall dining experiences.
