I need to go out for Chinese food more, because I've never eaten at any of the six Utah restaurants that were recognized recently in the 7th annual Chinese Restaurant Awards.

The national awards, organized by Chinese Restaurant News, were held recently in San Francisco. They recognize the "Top 100" restaurants in the country in various award categories.

Here are the Utah winners. (Let me know if you've eaten at these restaurant and what you think about the food)

Water Moon • 129 E. 13800 South, Draper. One of the Top 100 Asian restaurants for offering special ingredients, recipes and flavors of an Asian cuisine other than Chinese.

China Hill • 2704 N. Hill Field Road, Layton. A winner in the specialty dish category, which honors restaurants for serving signature dishes that distinguish them from other restaurants.

Crazy Buffet • 4150 S. Redwood Rd., Taylorsville; and China Buffet • 222 W. State St., Hurricane. These two restaurants were honored in the best buffet category for providing variety, value and top quality food and buffet maintenance.

Ming's Garden • 3640 Highland Dr., Salt Lake City; and Panda Garden • 212 N. 900 East, St. George. Winners in the "local favorites" category for maintaining an important community presence and devoted customer base.

The winning restaurants were selected based on anonymous dining evaluations, public vote, online diner reviews and an advisory panel evaluation.
