September 2004 • Parole violation hearing, where Allgier gets another nine months and a new parole date of April 2005, which is later rescinded because of his getting tattoos in prison.

April 2005 • Rescission hearing, at which Allgier admits, "I probably should have waited till I got out" to get his face tattooed. Allgier denies the tattoos are gang-related and says A.E.W. does not stand for "Aryan Empire Warriors," but "Allgiers Eternally White."

April 2006 • Rehearing before the parole board, at which Allgier says tattooing his face was "not the brightest decision of my life." Asked why he did it, he said: "I thought it would be cool. I had my whole body covered, I thought I'd do my face, too." But he says he will not get dinged with any more disciplinary write-ups for tattooing. "I don't have any more room on my body to get a tattoo if I wanted to."

September 15, 2010 • After repeated delays, 3rd District Judge Paul Maughan orders that Allgier's trial will begin May 9, denying Allgier's attorneys' requests for more time and saying, "Unless I'm dead or in the hospital, we're going to try this case."

November 3, 2010 • Allgier's attorneys claim he is being mistreated by guards at the Salt Lake County Jail, saying that they read his mail and harass him. Corrections Bureau Chief Deputy Rollin Cook calls the accusations "absolutely false." A story in The Salt Lake Tribune quoted a jail officer saying that Allgier's attorneys requested extra security during visits because they feared for their lives.

February 9, 2011 • Based on the Tribune story, Allgier asks Maughan to appoint him a new team of attorneys and denies that he is attempting to derail his May 9 trial. Early in the case, one of Allgier's Salt Lake Legal Defenders revealed having a close personal relationship with slain Corrections Officer Stephen Anderson and had to be replaced.

February 24, 2011 • Maughan denies Allgier's request for a new defense team, saying he found no evidence that, as Allgier had alleged, the attorney-client relationship was damaged.

March 7, 2011 • Allgier's attorneys request that his trial be delayed.

March 21, 2011 • Maughan says he will consider granting Allgier a new defense team if it will bypass further delays in the case. He also rules that Allgier will not be allowed to wear make-up covering his tattoos during the trial. Jury selection is set to begin April 15.
