Kennecott Utah Copper's Bingham Canyon Mine Visitor Center is open.

The popular Salt Lake County attraction charges a $5 per car admittance fee up to $50 for tour buses.

There is no charge for school buses, veterans-group tours, Boy and Girl Scouts in uniform, and vans from Salt Lake County-operated senior citizen centers. Those arriving with school groups must have a completed form at the entrance gate. The form can be found at http://www.kennecott.com.

In addition to spectacular views, visitors can view exhibits, displays, interactive information kiosks and video presentations ranging from displays of historic mining artifacts to presentations on how Kennecott's modern-day operation produces metals and minerals.

The center is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., seven days a week through Oct. 31 – weather permitting. To allow time to tour, vehicles will not be admitted after 7 p.m. Motorcycles are not permitted.

Fees, along with donations from Rio Tinto employees and the Bingham Canyon Lions Club gift shop, are donated to local charities through the Kennecott Utah Copper Visitor Center Charitable Foundation.
