Utah men's basketball coach Larry Krystkowiak expanded his staff by one on Sunday, announcing he has hired DeMarlo Slocum from Colorado State, where he has been an assistant for the past three years.

Slocum's duties at CSU were primarily working with the guards.

"Coach Slocum is a well-respected coach and we are excited to add him to our staff," Krystkowiak said. "He is a solid recruiter whose strength lies in the Pac-12 region and the state of Utah, which we need to focus on as we move into our new conference. DeMarlo also does a tremendous job of skill development on the floor, particularly with guards and wings, so we feel he is a perfect fit for Utah basketball."

Slocum, a Las Vegas native, also served as an assistant at Idaho and was the head coach of the Las Vegas Prospects AAU team for five years.
