Los Angeles — After winning the Mountain West Conference Championships, the No. 35 BYU men's tennis team heads to Los Angeles to take on No. 31 San Diego May 13 in the first round of the NCAA tournament.

"It was exciting to see BYU up there on the screen," said Cougar coach Brad Pearce. "We've had a great season, but we still have some goals to accomplish."

BYU is 21-5 overall and 6-0 in conference. The Cougars have not lost in regular-season conference play since 2009.

The Cougars lost to San Diego 6-1 in January. San Diego is 16-6 overall. The match will be played at No. 2 USC's tennis courts. USC, 21-1, will take on Sacramento State, 14-13. The winners of both matches play May 14.
