The Utah basketball program announced on Friday that Aaron Dotson, a 6-foot-4 shooting guard, will transfer to the U. from Louisiana State University.

"We are very excited to have Aaron become a part of Utah basketball," said Utah head coach Larry Krystkowiak. "He is a quality person and a skilled basketball player who has a wealth of Divivision I experience at the highest level, coming out of the SEC. Aaron is an excellent wing player who we believe can do great things in the future for our program."

Dotson will sit out the 2011 season and be eligible to play in 2012. He averaged 6.8 points, 2.7 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game as a sophomore for the Tigers.

A native of Seattle, he had offers from Oregon, Gonzaga and Washington State.
