Barbara Stuart never became a household name, but if you were watching TV anytime from the mid-1950s until just five years ago, you probably saw her face.

Perhaps best known as Sergeant Carter's girlfriend, Miss Bunny, on "Gomer Pyle USMC," Stuart's string of credits reads like a TV all-star team.

A longtime resident of California, Stuart died Sunday at the age of 81 in St. George. Her brother, Richard, lives in Santa Clara.

Among the shows on Stuart's resume are "December Bride," "The George Burns & Gracie Allen Show," "The Untouchables," "Hawaiian Eye," "Twilight Zone," "Peter Gunn," "Perry Mason," "Rawhide," "77 Sunset Strip," "The Dick Van Dyke Show," "The Andy Griffith Show," "The Joey Bishop Show," "The Adventures of Ozzie & Harriet," "Batman," "Alias Smith and Jones," "Love, American Style," "Banacek," "Barnaby Jones," "Kung Fu," "Cannon," "The Rookies," "Starsky and Hutch," "Taxi," "Quincy," "Three's Company," "Mama's Family," "Hotel," "Highway to Heaven," "Simon & Simon," "L.A. Law" and "Nash Bridges." Just to name a few.

I wish she'd written a book. I would love to have heard her perspective on all those people she worked with and all those shows she appeared in.
