Utahn Dia Frampton won her battle round in Tuesday's episode of "The Voice," keeping her alive in the NBC singing competition.

Frampton sang "Can't Hurry Love" with Serabee, and their coach/judge, country star Blake Shelton, chose Frampton as the winner of the vocal battle.

It was not, however, a particularly strong performance by either contestant.

Judge Adam Levine criticized Frampton's performance as "timid" and said he would have chosen Serrabee as the winner. Cee Lo Green called the whole performance "bizarre," but said Frampton's voice was "wonderful."

"This is such an odd pair to me that I can't even make a decision," said judge Christina Aguilerra.

Reba McEntire, who helped coach Shelton's team of singers on "The Voice," did offer words of praise for the Utahn.

"I thought it was very cool of you to stay consistent with what you do," she said. "When Serrabee was hitting all the rangey things, you stayed true to yourself and I respect you for that."

But the decision was Shelton's, and he didn't sound overly enthusiastic about either of his singers.

"Sera, just because you can sing certain notes doesn't mean you have to do it all the time," he said, adding that Frampton looked "uncomfortable."

"But I don't blame you for looking that way."

And then he chose Frampton to continue.

With her win, Frampton is assured of a spot in the top 16 of the competition. She'll perform on the upcoming "live" shows, where she'll have to win the votes of viewers.
