The Sorenson Unity Center threw its third annual CommUNITY Fair on Saturday, offering live music, food and activities from a bounce house to a nature walk.

The center, at 1383 South 900 West, holds the festival to celebrate the cultural diversity and unique community of its surrounding neighborhoods in Glendale and Poplar Grove. This year's fair also was the official kickoff of the newly created Unity Gardens, a 24-plot community garden for residents and organizations in Salt Lake City.

The center serves as a community resource and gathering place and strives to celebrate all cultures. It includes a fitness center, a computer center and gallery space, and offers classes and more. Learn more at http://www.sorensonunitycenter.com.

Saturday's fair was sponsored by the center and Coca-Cola, Creamies, Gr8West Institute, Hale Centre Theatre, Mountain America Credit Union, RC Willey, Salt Lake County Parks and Recreation, The Scotts Miracle-Gro Company, Utah Society for Environmental Education, Victor's Restaurant and Wasatch Community Gardens.
