Once Upon A Child store, selling gently used items, has recently opened in Layton, one of 240 stores throughout the United States and Canada. It is the company's first location in Utah.

The store, at 716 N. Main St., buys and sells children's apparel, toys, baby equipment and furniture, as well as movies, books and other kids' items.

Parent company Winmark Corp., which also franchises Play It Again Sports, Plato's Closet and Music Go Round, has put into motion a growth program to elevate its franchise presence throughout the state with nearly 15 additional locations in the coming years.

All four brands provide used, brand name products at 70 percent off retail prices.

Once Upon A Child serves the parents of babies to pre-teens, and Plato's Closet takes over with teens to young adults. Athletes find savings on equipment for all ages at Play It Again Sports and musicians have access to everything from guitars to drums and gear at Music Go Round.
