Construction on HGTV's 2012 Dream Home is well under way in the River Meadows Ranch development in Wasatch County.

The 4,000 square-foot modern ranch house is scheduled to be completed in September. The foundation and exterior walls are in place. Interior framing is largely completed, and electrical and plumbing work are under way. On Sunday, the site, at lots 5 and 6 in the development, was deserted aside from those passing by slowly in cars or stopping to get a look.

A solitary fly fisherman inhabited the Provo River running along the back of the home.

The sprawling home sits far back on the lot. A center entry is flanked by a large garage to the left and a covered porch to the right. Inside there are four bedrooms, including a large, isolated master suite on the second floor. A two-story great room with beamed ceilings is surrounded by large windows that extend to the floor. Most rooms have expansive views of the Wasatch Mountains to the west and the river to the south.

The site of the Dream Home was announced Friday, and construction began about a month ago. This is the 16th year of HGTV's annual sweepstakes, in which one person will win the home.

An hour-long TV special will air on Jan. 1, unveiling the home, and sweepstakes entries will be accepted from Dec. 30 through Feb. 18.
