Republican presidential hopeful Mitt Romney is scheduled to spend much of Friday in his old 2002 Olympics stomping grounds. The former Olympics chief and one-time governor of Massachusetts will hold a noon fundraiser in Orem at the home of Apex Alarm CEO Todd Pederson before heading up to Salt Lake City for a 5:30 p.m. fundraising dinner at the Grand America Hotel. The invitation-only events are charging $1,000 per person, or $2,500 apiece for attendance at more exclusive VIP receptions. But there is one chance for people without fat wallets to get a word in with the GOP frontrunner. He's scheduled to make an appearance at about 3:15 p.m. at the Hires Big H Drive-in near the corner of 400 South and 700 East. The burning question on the minds of avid Romney fans: fry sauce or ketchup? In the 2008 election, Romney won 90 percent of the Utah primary vote and raised more than $5 million here. But it didn't help him catch Arizona Sen. John McCain, who went on to win the GOP nomination. In next year's election, Romney may be battling former Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman Jr., who just entered the race this week.Huntsman, who originally had planned to visit the Beehive State on Friday, now will make a swing to Utah and Nevada on Tuesday.
