Selena Gomez (above)Spotlight show • Disney teen queen Selena Gomez & The Scene are headlining this summer when she's not smooching her beau Justin Bieber and her opening act will be her Hollywood Records label mates, Allstar Weekend. Don't mistake the band of boys for a boy-band Allstar Weekend grew out of the same rock scene that produced Blink-182, and the high-school friends played hundreds of local shows before finishing second in Radio Disney's competition, "Next Big Thing or N.B.T." The band opened for Gomez the first time she ever stepped foot onstage to sing, said Allstar Weekend bassist Cameron Quiseng. "Watching Selena is great [because we] see her progress," he said. Allstar Weekend will release its second record, "All the Way," on Sept. 27, and Quiseng said the difference between the band's first release and this one is "like night and day.
