The Utah High School Activities Association voted Thursday to sanction boys' and girls' lacrosse starting with the 2019-20 school year.

Craig Morris, who has worked with the UHSAA for the last two years to get the sport sanctioned, expressed his joy at the news.

"We're thrilled this has come to fruition," he said in a release. "If you look at every state where lacrosse has been sanctioned, the sport has grown."
