Provo-based Orabrush said Tuesday its signature tongue cleaner will now be on sale at 3,500 Walmart stores in the United States.

Orabrush credited its leap into big-time retailing to its YouTube series of videos about the travails of an obnoxious giant tongue that have made it a marketing sensation.

"To my knowledge, there have been few, if any, products to go from no sales, online or offline, to full nationwide distribution by using YouTube videos in just two years," Jeff Davis, CEO of Orabrush, said in a news released.

Since its launch in 2009, the company has garnered 300,000 fans on Facebook and its YouTube channel has seen more than 38 million views, behind only Apple and Old Spice with its 150,000 subscribers, the company said.

Walmart stores in Utah have been carrying the tongue brush in recent months. The expansion in Walmarts nationwide means the brush is being carried in more than 10,000 outlets throughout the world, the company said.
