Arches National Park closed the road to the Delicate Arch viewpoint because of flooding on Wednesday.

Visitors can still hike to the Delicate Arch, as the road to the Wolfe Ranch parking lot, where the trailhead is, remains open, according to Arches National Park's John Lewis. The part that is closed is between the Wolfe Ranch area and the viewpoints.

After an overnight rainstorm, the Cache Valley Wash backed up and left two feet of water on the road that leads to the two Delicate Arch viewpoints, Lewis said.

Typically, when this wash floods, it is about four days before the water subsides, then "we can get in there and muck it out," Lewis said.
