On Sept. 11, 2001, Margaret Wahlstrom lost her mother-in-law and sister-in-law. Mary Alice Wahlstrom and Carolyn Beug were passengers on American Airlines Flight 11, which terrorists crashed into the north tower of the World Trade Center

And that event changed the lives of Margaret Wahlstrom and her family.

"All our nerves became sensitive to serving and caring," she said in an interview with The Salt Lake Tribune before the 10th anniversary of 9/11. "When you are the recipients of that kind of love, it makes you want to go and give it."

Wahlstron will be the featured speaker at A Hope and Comfort in Grief Program's annual Grief and the Holidays event at the University of Utah on Tuesday, Nov. 8, She'll talk about how the holidays are an opportunity for people to come together to cope with the loss of friends and family members and keep their memories alive.

The event will be in the U.'s College of Nursing's Annette Poulson Cumming Building. Admission is free. For more information, call (801) 364-2030. —
