The new president-elect of the Utah State Bar was sworn in Friday, during the organization's annual Fall Forum.

Lori Nelson, a partner at Jones Waldo Holbrook & McDonough, will take over for current president Rodney G. Snow next year. Utah Supreme Court Chief Justice Christine Durham administered the oath before a crowd of attorneys at the Little America Hotel in downtown Salt Lake City.

The bar honored six attorneys with Lifetime Service Awards. The recipients were: Francis J. Carney; Bert L. Dart; Judge Pamela T. Greenwood; W. Eugene Hansen; V. Lowry Snow; and Francis M. Wilkstrom.

Also Friday:

• Steven H. Stewart, a former judge for the Alta Justice Court, received the bar's award for pro bono work.

• T. Richard Davis, of the firm Callister Nebeker & McCullough, received the bar's award for professionalism.

• Robert D. Myrick, President and Chief Operating Officer of Morgan Stanley Bank, receiving the bar's community member award. Myrick serves as the Utah Supreme Court's Ethics and Discipline Committee's non-lawyer member.
