Ogden continued a 49-year tradition Saturday, lighting its downtown Christmas Village to illuminate the holiday season.

Each year since 1962, Ogden has re-created Santa's village at the North Pole on the grounds of the Municipal Gardens at 25th Street and Washington Boulevard.

As in years past, the Christmas Village lighting took place at the end of the annual Holiday Light Parade down Washington Boulevard.

Children wishing to visit Santa can do so Monday through Saturday evenings at Santa's Castle in the village.
