A Colorado man has died from injuries suffered in a car crash this week on Interstate 70 near Richfield.

Utah Highway Patrol identified the man as Shawn Yoho, of Aurora, Colo.

Wednesday at about 1:30 p.m., Yoho was a passenger in a westbound Dodge Durango that was stopped on I-70 while crews cleared power lines that had been struck by an airplane earlier that morning.

The Durango was rear-ended by a Honda Element that didn't slow down while approaching the stopped traffic, UHP reported. A second car was also clipped by the Element before it went off the road. Police said Yoho was struck on the back of the head by a large musical case inside the truck that was propelled when the Durango was hit. Yoho was airlifted to a Salt Lake City hospital. UHP said Yoho died the next day in the afternoon as a result of injuries he received in the head from the musical case. He was wearing a seat belt.

Two other people in the Durango were treated for bruises. UHP said the driver of the Element showed signs and symptoms of drug use.
